What is Rally Obedience?

Rally Obedience is a fun dog sport that combines obedience, teamwork, and communication in a relaxed, supportive environment. Handlers guide their dogs through a course of numbered stations, each requiring a different exercise, such as sits, turns, weaves, recalls, and other obedience skills. Unlike traditional obedience, Rally allows handlers to talk to and encourage their dogs throughout the course, making it enjoyable and rewarding for both dog and handler.

Our Rally Obedience classes cater for all skill levels, from beginners learning the basics to experienced teams looking to refine their skills and prepare for competition. We focus on:

  • Building a strong partnership and clear communication between handler and dog.
  • Teaching and developing Rally Obedience exercises and course skills.
  • Enhancing focus, confidence, and teamwork in a fun, supportive environment.
  • Helping dogs and handlers enjoy learning and progressing together at their own pace.

Dogs of any age are welcome. Rally is also an excellent activity for dogs who have retired from agility or hoopers but still enjoy being active, learning new skills, and working with their handler.

As a club, we also take part in optional online Rally competitions four times a year. These friendly competitions are a great way to challenge yourself, celebrate your progress, and enjoy Rally in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
