Our Club - Welcome to the Fair City Dog Training Club

The Fair City DTC is non-profit making where the obedience trainers receive no payment, but give their time for the love of dogs and and the pleasure of seeing the dog that comes with no training develop into a well behaved and obedient dog. The transformation is a credit to the time and patience put in by the trainer and handler.

Here at Fair City Dog Training we are a club first and foremost run by members for the good of the members and of course for the good of our family pets.   At Fair City, the foundations of our dog training is based on only positive training methods.

Purely positive reinforcement is a generally straightforward theory. Dogs will repeat good behaviour when it is followed by a reward.   Bad behaviour does not get a reward or even an acknowledgement.   Positive training begins with rewarding a desired behaviour immediately and within a short period our dogs will assocciate the good behaviour with the reward.

We make training fun for you and your dog and humane dog training methods will help strengthen the relationship you have with your dog.

At Fair City we offer Puppy Foundation training, Bronze, Silver and Gold obedience courses all to Kennel Club standards and follow the Kennel Club Good Citizen programme.

We all know older dogs, who perhaps have forgotten or never got the chance to take part in training.   Our club have recently begun to take on older dogs, to assess them, provide training and if suitable can compete in the KCGC Bronze course, and futher on if desired.

Yes you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Agility classes are also available (if spaces allow) for those who have completed and passed their bronze good citizen assessment.
